Jack becomes a suspect and his wife, Carola, asks Kelly to help solve the crime.
Plenty of quirky characters have reasons to wish Dudley dead, but who killed him? The Englishman who is the head of one of the largest international banks in the world? Murder in CubaIn "Murder in Cuba," is an excellent addition to Dianne Harman's Cedar Bay Cozy Mysteries series .I'll be honest, I'm a huge Dianne Harman fan. I love I can pick up one of her books from any of the series and get right into the story without having read the previous books. While I have never been to Cuba, the country came alive through beautiful descriptions of the country. Leaving her Cedar Bay coffee shop behind, Kelly travels with husband Mike to Cuba for a fly fishing trip. They are invited by a man named Trout who is investigating the possibility of being the primary U.S. fly fishing guide to Cuba for an international organization.
Soon after arriving in the remote, exotic locale a murder of one of the people in their fly fishing group occurs. Mike's law enforcement spouse, is asked to assist in the investigation. There are a number of people on the trip who are suspects, and Kelly jumps in to help Mike.
One of the best part of Ms. Harman's books is that there are few, if any, typos. So many of the cozy mysteries on the market today are so splattered with punctuation, language and typo errors, it completely distracts the reader's interest in the story line. Kudos to the writer and editor.

Murder in Cuba A Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Series Book 8 edition by Dianne Harman Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Wow! Another winner with this cozy mystery who-dunnit "Murder in Cuba". I have all of author Dianne Harman's Cozy Bay Mystery books and this was another brilliant page-turner. I always enjoy the well-written quirky characters, Mike and Kelly, and their madcap escapades. As usual, Dianne provides us readers with delicious recipes and I can't wait to try the Albondigas (Cuban Meatballs) In Sauce. I give this new cozy mystery high marks!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved traveling to Cuba, it sounds so beautiful. My stomach was growling at the thought of two pound lobsters. The characters were easy to follow and they were very likable. The setting was great. The weather helped in the cozy department. The story held your focus and moved at a great pace. The ending, broke my heart. Great story.
I love mysteries set in Spanish speaking countries. This one was very enjoyable. I do wish the author's editor or the author would check their Spanish though. Being a Spanish teacher myself it does aggravate me when there are mistakes in the Spanish language used in the book. Although this one was very minor - Buenas dias instead of Buenos dias - they still bother me. Am reading another by a different author where I am finding the same type of mistakes. Don't know whether it's the author, the editor or both. Nevertheless. it didn't make the book less interesting. I love cozy mysteries
I have read several of this author's short novels. I do enjoy them, although I prefer the other series characters. Having said that, this particular installment is well done. I was a little reluctant when I noted that sport fishing was the main, or one topic. Fishing in general not being of ant personal interest. But, using Cuba as the location was the draw for me. The subject of Cuba begining to be opened for US tourists is very timely.
Without being a travel guide, I was amazed and pleased by all the included details about Cuba itself. I have only given it a 4 only because I don't normally read, or enjoy, such short novels.
Murder in Cuba is another fun, quick read by Dianne Harman, with glimpses of Cuba providing a backdrop to this lighthearted murder mystery. Vintage automobiles and other images described by the author, resonate with a place frozen in time since Cuba was last open to U.S. tourism. The natural beauty of this island nation also shines through in the story. There’s food, too, as in Kelly’s Koffee Shop and the other stories in the Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery series. Murder in Cuba also features an introduction to, of all things, fly-fishing. It's an integral part of the story and part of the reason Kelly and her husband, Mike, journey to Cuba. When Dudley Samms, fly-fishing guide is found murdered, the story is off and running. Do Kelly and Mike’s friends belong on the quirky list of suspects? Did Carola or Jack kill Dudley? If not, whodunit? You’ll have to read this latest installment in the Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery series to find out.
What is Cuba like? If you don't know, you will have a good idea what it's like after finishing "Murder in Cuba" by Dianne Harman. The author in "Murder in Cuba" serves up Cuban meatballs and other dishes to a few Americans who have come to the Florida Keys and Cuba to fly fish. Among the friendly fishermen are people with hateful thoughts and murders on their minds. There are also special moments too like the times Carola and Kelly share a laugh and quirky sleuth ideas or a night at the bar with their husbands. I had met these characters in another book by Dianne Harman Jack and Carola along with Mike and Kelly.
I loved the friendship between Carola and Kelly. Carola lends a Chilean flair to the friendship. When together, they abandon all their cares and relax with a Mojito. However when Jack is accused of murdering another fisherman named Dudley, the ladies get involved with the purpose of keeping Jack out of jail and safe from the hands of a killer.
Found diaries and a newly found cat made me love my days and nights in Cuba. Cayo is the cat. She refuses to leave the side of one of the ladies until they have to take a plane back home. I thought about the diary. It is really surprising what people will write in a diary. Dudley keeps one. That surprised me too. I would have expected Stewart's wife to have kept a diary. I am learning to think that men might keep diaries as often as women. What he wrote in it is surprising. He writes about more than Fly fishing.
There is so much going onin Havana that it's almost possible to forget about the heat and humidity. It's not easy to forget that dead bodies land in oceans too. This is a dangerous journey mixed with a lot of talk about Cuban recipes. There is also secret smooching going onbetween two of the party which makes me think when the cat's away a mouse might play.
